Don Calabria activity in the world
Don Calabria is a family of Poor Servants of Divine Providence, founded in Verona by St. Giovanni Calabria in 1907 and 1910, respectively.
The "Calabrian family" is now more commonly used to emphasize the multifaceted social activities of the community of people and structures, inspired by the charisma of St. Giovanni Calabria and working hard to spread its mission to many parts of the world.
Giovanni Calabria began his career by accepting and caring for disadvantaged minors, whom he called "Good Kids." In order to develop useful life skills in children, Don Calabria helped to receive professional training in workshops, according to the abilities of each child. In addition to material support, he always sought to provide them with spiritual nourishment and education to help them become worthy members of the society of that time. In addition, he opened specialized homes and hospitals for lonely and sick elderly people.
To date, many Calabrian homes around the world have helped minors and, in part, adults in various ways: day care centers, family homes, shelters, kindergartens, schools, vocational schools, aggregation centers, and rehabilitation centers for drug addicts.

The mission that Don Calabria has entrusted to us is to care for the poorest and most suffering children.

Medicine and sanitation
Taking care of the sick means providing them with the best possible treatment, as well as taking care of their spiritual weakness, because the disease puts the whole person to the serious test, not just the body. This is how the Organization helps to treat patients in different parts of the world in hospitals, health centers and dispensaries.
There are currently four Calabrian hospitals that work in harmony with each other through the coordination of the administrative department called the Systematic Department of Calabrian Health.
In 2018, 2,617,340 medical services were provided (including medical consultations, hospitalization, laboratory tests and medical procedures).

One of the greatest conditions for fragility in modern society is disability. In this context, Don Calabria Opera has been working for the long time, caring for special people in various forms: school and vocational training, health aspects, employment. One of the boundaries we are working on is "after us", i.e. caring for people with disabilities when family members are unable to care for them.
Work with people with disabilities is mainly in Italy (Verona, Ferrara, Rome), but in recent years projects have also started in Brazil, India and Angola.

The center of the medical project launched in 1992 in one of the poorest areas in Angolan capital. Services are provided primarily in the field of pediatrics, general medicine and infectious diseases.
DIVINE PROVISION HOSPITAL - MARITUBA
Philippines
The polyclinic, which is located in the middle of the large degraded area on the outskirts of Manila. Medical consultations, dentistry, X-rays and ultrasound examinations are included.

DIVINE PROVISION HOSPITAL - MARITUBA
It has been operating since 1997 and is a place of visits for almost a million people. The hospital has four main departments: medicine, obstetrics and gynecology (where 250 children are born each month), general surgery and pediatrics.
